Tips On Educational Trips To America

Taking an educational trip to America can be an exhilarating, life-changing experience. Spending time expanding your knowledge in the United States allows you to grow in more ways than one. Additionally, traveling to America through an educational trip provides a unique combination of formal learning, informal learning, fun and adventure.

It can be exciting and nerve-wracking to take an education trip to America. Here are a few tips to help you on your journey:

Have An Idea Of What You Want Out Of The Trip

Traveling anywhere brings unexpected twists, turns and experiences. However, having an idea of what you are looking to get out of an educational trip to America can help you choose the best program for you.

Are you looking to expand your language skills? To learn a new skill, like coding? To spend more time traveling and adventuring than “learning” in the traditional sense?

The answers to questions like these will be important as you choose a trip to go on. Making sure your desires align with what the program offers will help ensure you get the most out of your time in America.

USA Youth Tours‘ summer camp offers a little something for everybody. Students can tailor their camp to focus areas including advanced english, advanced computer science and sports like basketball, soccer, volleyball and tennis.

Be Open to Learning Outside Of the Classroom

You may think that an educational trip to America means most of your learning will happen inside a classroom. However, learning on an education trip happens outside of the classroom as well. From interacting with your peers on the tour to learning about American culture while traveling to iconic sites the country, you may find yourself learning new things from everyone around you.

USA Youth Tours’ educational summer camp has the perfect combination of traditional and nontraditional learning. A typical day for our student campers includes breakfast, an English and American culture class, a computer science and animation class and a team building activity. And that’s just before lunch time! Students also prepare for the TOEFL test and spend time with their peers around the campfire after dinner. At our camps, learning, fun and adventure flow consistently!

Embrace The Uncomfortable

Jumping into a new experience in a new country, with it’s own ideas, cultural norms and language can be uncomfortable at a time. Even the most well-traveled, adaptable students may find themselves uncomfortable at times in a new environment. Learning to embrace this comfort and recognize that it’s simply a part of the process will open you up to even more growth and learning.

Know that you’re not alone, you are not crazy and that there’s nothing wrong with going through an adjustment period.

Our USA Youth Tours staff gets to know each and every student at our camps and on our trips. We want to make sure you know you have support and resources for anything you may need. We would love to give you more information about our incredible educational summer camp. Contact us today!
